The guard is a really nice woman who basically watches over you, and it feels refreshing to go about your day unconcerned that anyone will harass or kidnap you

You never have to cook or clean, and anything you even mention wanting shows up at your apartment the next day

Atalanta even allows you to go out and have fun, provided you take the guard with you and you don't engage in any substances (which you weren't interested in anyway)

You have lots more time to study and sleep and engage in your hobbies, and you're eating better than you have since you were a toddler

20 years later, 141 was officially retired, all married, happy families, peaceful sunny days and most importantly, no war, no guns, just peace.

A week ago you said to me "Do you believe I'll never be too far?" If you're lost, just look for me You'll find me in the region of the summer stars

Every month, no matter where either one of the people in the team was in the world, they would fly to a small home in town in the southern part of the U.S. And arrive between 6-7 in the afternoon, to talk and catch up because it's better to see the person than to text them. The stories shared between all, the wives/husbands, kids and how old they were getting. Unlike the rest, you moved to America, and wanted that movie-like life, in some small town, driving a truck, passing through quiet streets where all anyone worried about was the leaves that would fall in autumn. You and your partner opened a small pub.

The name for it was 'R/N's Place" This was after you finally get out of the toxic part of your life, the family and the ache it gave you when you were there. Not a normal name for a pub but the locals loved it. Your favourite part was that you received lots of veterans, they all told you about their time serving and you, like the proud friend you are displayed a picture of you and the team in your first and last mission together.

It was almost around the time the men arrived, Price being the first, followed by Gaz who flew in with him. Soap arrived late, his children wanted to talk to their father before bedtime and Ghost arrived last, getting a call from his partner to which he always answered, he always made it clear his partner was a priority now that he is retired. You waited by the table with the rest for Ghost, your wife/husband serving the clients. "And there he is, Simon." Price smiled a little, proud to see his family again. "Alright, who's first?" Gaz asked and drank from his pint.

"I'll go first," Ghost said, which was a definite first. "Go on, son." Price passed all a cigar. A tradition he started once his grown soldiers/children were all retired. "Me and my partner are expecting a son." A secret he kept until it was assured the baby would make it this time. "Congrats mate!" Soap hugged him, feeling proud of a man he considered his oldest brother. "That's very much well deserved, man." Gaz smiled and you stared in awe. Price looked down with a soft chuckle, wanting to dismiss the tears that formed in his eyes. His wallet would be getting a new picture of the newest addition to the family soon. --- "R/N, I won't make it, go!" Ghost said to which you shook your head. "No, this is the one command I will not take! You will get old and fat but you will NOT die on me lieutenant, not today!" you yelled over the loud noises. ---

He looks at you and you hug him, whispering in his ear, "See, I told you it would be possible this time, Simon. I'm so happy and proud of you." Words that definitely made the tears well up in his eyes.

The fact that we can sit right here and say goodbye Means we've already won A necessity for apologies between you and me Baby, there is none

"Now you are all making me feel old." Price jokes and finally looks up. The four people he fought with through wars, all living the lives he knew were all much earned. Through the wounds, blood and sacrifice, somehow, five mad people are still alive. And the entire night, Soap told stories of his farm, and Gaz gave advice on how to fix some stuff, a trip he would soon have to make to Scotland. Gaz on the new tricks his little ones make, how he knows karma got to him and his back aches, so much for the jokes he told about Price. Ghost with his wood-making business, one he started in the backyard and now in Manchester's best small business. Price on how his kids are now in uni and the youngest one is in secondary.

And then you, with their favourite pub in the entire world, how you adopted a child and your eldest in primary already. Your wife/husband watching you smile from afar. You always were excited for these meetings, it was the one time someone other than the local veterans understood the stories you told.

We had some good times, didn't we? We had some good tricks up our sleeve Goodbyes are bittersweet But it's not the end I'll see your face again

And, as each month passed by, it turned into 10 years later. You and the other men in the team gathered not in America but back home in England. All in black dressing, lifting the coffin of the father you all shared. Price had peacefully passed on a calm night. As his wife puts it, he was finally ready to go, his mission was over and the children he raised were all old enough to understand and his little soldiers as he called you were well off in life, the one he made sure you all had. In years you had never seen so many of the toughest and now retired soldiers you worked with cry so much. You did too. The ceremony was as expected, memorable, beautiful and for the last time in John Price's life, peaceful.

Yesterday I went out to celebrate the birthday of a friend But as we raised our glasses up to make a toast I realised you were missing

You all flew back to the first ever pub he took you to. Raise your glasses and shed more tears. You see, this was a promise you all made. An oath between Task Force 141. When one passes, those that remain must go to the first pub we talked to as not a team but a family, and just then we can mourn but also celebrate we once lived.

And I know we'll be alright, child Just close your eyes and see And I'll be by your side Any time you're needing me Oh, yeah

Ghost chuckles, "And he told me, 'you reckon I can make it?' and that old man did it, the deadliest move ever and he fuckin' made it." he takes a sip of his drink. Gaz smiles, fond memories shared between him and Price, to be remembered until his final breath. "He used to do this trick with the smoke from his cigar just for my little girl to giggle, and man does she still ask for that trick," Soap shared. All four of you, smoking a cigar, just like he would've. "Can you believe the old man never complained too much about his back?" you ask to which all others nod. Now in your late 40's to early 50's, you never understood how he never once complained of the aching bones or back, proving he was and will always be the strongest and toughest man to ever grace your lives.

Alright, timelines. (link to my old post)

Today I'm going to walk you through the cluster fuck of Toriyama not paying attention to what he writes from the Trunks arc to the epilogue of the Perfect Cell arc.

Reminder that I divide the "Android Saga" in 4 arcs:

Trunks arc (arrival of Frieza to 3yg training),

Android arc (until the time machine is discovered)

Imperfect Cell arc (until Cell absorbs 18)

Perfect Cell arc (+ epilogue of Trunks killing imperfect Cell)

I will also pull Toei and Daizenshu content if needed just to show how bad it gets, BUT that's just to enhance my argument. Everything here is manga-deductible without extra context or content.

As I've shown in the link above, the manga implies 4 timelines:

Forgotten timeline (Cell kills Trunks and steals his time machine),

Lost timeline (the timeline that dead!Trunks traveled to, which did not have a Cell pop in the middle of its Android Saga, otherwise Trunks would've known about Cell),

Future Timeline (the one we know and see, Trunks traveled to a uni where Cell traveled to first, so there's changes and Cell pops up in the Android saga),

Main Timeline (the one we know and follow, to which Cell and Trunks traveled to),

Let's go into details about dates and math and everything first. (under the read more because LONG)

When Future Trunks discovers dead!Trunks' time machine, he states that it comes from age 788, which is 3 years from where he comes from (which means he comes from 785), and that the Machine landed here "4 years ago". 4 years ago was about one year before Trunks first came (aka one year before Meca Frieza stuff).

During the first trip, Trunks states he comes from 20 years into the future.

That means during his first trip, he went from 784/785 to 764.

We also know he's 17 at this point and "will be born in 2 and a half years"

(Baby Trunks is supposed to be ~6 months old by May 12th, 767, so "I warn in 764, I'll be born in 2.5 years, so I was born in 766" works. Ignoring the wikis about Trunks' birthday being June and Future Trunks' birthday being in November, it doesn't matter here, we just need the years))

For Trunks to be 17 during his first trip, he needs to travel from 784 (before his 18th birthday). So by the time he comes back the second time, it needs to be in 785 (so he is 18!); since it takes 8 months to charge the machine (Trunks the Story manga chapter), that works out.

So in terms of trips, we have:

Trunks (both versions) : (early-mid) 784 to 764

Trunks (both versions): (early-ish) 785 to May 12th 767

Cell: 788 to 763

At the time, for Toei, there were only two Timelines (aka it was both multiverse theory AND dynamic time travel theory, because Trunks becoming aware of Cell who killed him means Trunks isn't killed by Cell... yeah it's all sorts of EHH ??):

Anyway, you'd think this would be fine right? The image of Cell killing Trunks while he still had his sword (which he shouldn't since he broke it on 18's arm he never used it again in canon) is anime filler, we're all good.

Except... no. This fucking panel right here. Cell explains "(the machine/bots collecting dna) could've gotten Trunks cells but didn't because we had enough Saiyan cells".

Cell supposedly comes from a timeline where GOKU killed Frieza and Cold. But this god forsaken panel contradicts that. (of course it's just that Tori forgot, but we are DB fans, we take things seriously and word of god of the manga is supreme and can't be wrong)

This means that THIS particular version of Cell doesn't come from the Forgotten Timeline.

The Cell we know and love/hate comes from a timeline in which a future Trunks killed Frieza and Cold, BUT everything still went to shit (Goku + gang dying, dead!Trunks traveling to the past, and coming back to destroy the Androids).

In this timeline, Bulma met Future Trunks (who killed Cold and Frieza) in 764, presumably the gang got all the warnings like in the main timeline, but everyone STILL died. So she invented the Time Machine to send her Trunks to the past (perhaps with different instructions so as to not repeat the mistakes of the Future Trunks she saw 20 years prior).

Here's the thing. There is a way for this timeline to exist. You "just" gotta work on the postulate that "each time there's a time travel to the past, a new branch is created". And "if the time machine travels back in time a second time, it lands in the timeline it first branched out unless it travels back further in time". Rephrased: The "784 to 764" trip created a new branch in 764. The "785 to 767" trip landed in that new 764 branch. However the "788 to 763" trip created a whole new branch in 763.

The Time Machine that was piloted by dead!Trunks actually "traveled further back in time", creating an earlier "branch"... which is why Trunks noticed changes, including Goku's late arrival (or Frieza's earlier arrival, we don't know).

Yes, because Future Goku did not use Instant Transmission to fight Frieza and Cold. We know he didn't because Future Bulma had the coordinates where Goku landed, which is how Future Trunks got said coordinates. If Goku had IT to fight Frieza and Cold, Bulma wouldn't have known where the pod was going to land 3 hours later.

So timelines and where does Cell come from? Well you need a timeline from the Branch that started in 764 (with a Future Trunks' arrival to kill Frieza and Cold) but in which everyone died to the Androids, and in which, when Trunks traveled back home, he was able to destroy the Androids...

Anyway here's my final recap of all the timelines in Z, in which "one time travel is one interference creating a new branch". And this is how we can see where Cell comes from :D

This opens a realm of possibilities!!

Did a version of Trunks stay in the past, during his first trip and got a wish to Shenron to have a way to destroy his androids, so he didn't come back in 767 and didn't grow strong at all? Did the future trunks that warned against the Androids but that timeline still went to shit approached the problem differently?? who knows! Time for fanfics and doujins I guess :D

I'm bored, so that's my vision on Nikolai (reboot ver.) Just random things without much depth and explanation

Was born on August 2, 1971 in Russia, in a small town near the military base. His father is Russian, capitan of tank division, his mother is from Tatarstan, she was a military nurse when she met her future husband.

Nikolai is a firstborn, has a younger sister (Anna) and had a brother (Miron), who was killed in 2005

Nikolai knows Russian (native) Tatar ( kinda-sorta native, C1) English (C1) Georgian (B2) Arabic (B1)

His mom begged her husband to name their first child a Tatar name, so her side of the family would be satisfied. I won't tell you what name they had picked. But it sure starts with N

He's an Orthodox Christian, so his younger siblings, was baptized in the name of Saint Nicholas, that's where "Nikolai" is from

His family moved a lot from base to base, according to where his father was being deployed. Nik changed at least 3 schools during his childhood, he made few friends here and there, still visits them on leaves when he has time

Was good at languages, physics and math in school. Had been reading about aviation a lot in his free time.

He haven't got into uni, instead got drafted into the USSR army, was serving without a fuss until he expressed dissatisfaction with the foreign policy of the USSR, and was recruited by MI6 as an informant. His father already retired at that point. That time he really struggled to keep in touch with his family.

In 2000 his sister married her fiance from Georgia, and in the same year Nik became an uncle to their firstborn son Mikel Mzechvili, in 2001 his niece Nino was born, then in 2004 - Gogi (my oc). In 2005 Natela was born and the last one to come was Davit, in 2006. All of the kids were born in Georgia, but often visited their grandparents in Russia

Just two days after Natela was born, Miron was killed at his friend's wedding. Nikolai couldn't make it to his funeral, because of the work overseas, this still haunts him.

After retiring from the army, he became an "adjuster" with valuable connections at the highest level and in the criminal world.

He met Laswell through MI-6 on one of the missions,she then introduced him to Price after some time that Nik and Kate spent working together. He was in his mid-20 at that time

Nikolai took Gogi under his wing when he got kicked out of uni, but was too scared to be drafted into the Russian army (because at that time he was a Russian citizen for a studying purpose). Nik, on the other hand, was scared that Makarov might get to him through his nephew, so after some time spent on bureaucracy he enlisted Gogi in UK army.

Knows a lot of "new Russians" Got a lot of intel and financial support from them (like, where the hell he would get a damn TANK or a helicopter??? Exactly!)

It straight up wasn't until I was already well into my 20's that I started to meet other autistic people online and learned about their experiences and difficulties from talking with them that I realised a lot of things they described matched for me too.

I live in assfuck nowhere so most of my life the only few times that I had met autistic people were like, folks who were nonverbal or whatever, just generally needing direct assistive care, and I never bothered to look things up on my own because I was already inundated with the pressures of growing up, school, mental health, etc. I remember one of the first times I had built up the courage to ask anyone about it, I was in the hospital because of mental health issues. This was in my second year uni, and when one of the doctors assessing me was asking me questions, I said I thought maybe I was autistic. He promptly and with a fair amount of snark told me that if I was autistic I wouldn't have gotten into university.

Thinking back, he was probably just an exhausted, fresh outta school resident with no special interest in psychiatric care (and also just seemed to suck in general), but it was enough that I shelved the idea for another 5 years.

Lo and behold, now I am lying here in bed, just absolutely gobsmacked by the VERY REAL idea that im autistic and like holy shit I feel so vindicated.

I've been on tumblr for just a bit, but I see a lot of folks talking in various neurodivergent circles about their experiences and that's been so wonderful for me. I also have a few good friend groups w/ a lot of neurodivergent folks, and that's been really exciting too.

Like, I'm still processing this cognitively as I'm writing, so please pardon this ill patterned post, but this feels like such a beneficial thing for me. Over time I've adapted a few strategies here and there to help myself accomplish various tasks, but now I feel so empowered to, like... actually figure stuff out.

Even after feeling confident I was autistic, it was this nebulous, floating concept in my head for so long of, "oh yeah im autistic or something idk," that I never really dedicated much effort to finding healthier ways to do things that didn't irk me or whatever. I don't feel like the label /itself/ is what is important to me here, but rather the awareness around why I do so many things in the ways that I do and that it's /okay/ that I do.

I don't want this post to go on too much longer, but I feel it's worth noting that I've fought for years with my family because they didn't understand why I was going about things the way I did. Again, remember, they all grew up in this cloistered hellhole too. But, surprise surprise, the times in my life that I have been doing better than any other are when I felt confident enough to ignore what everyone was trying to get me to go along with and instead just fashioned my own best methods (which also sometimes included informing said overbearing individual(s) to go fuck themselves cause I'm busy doing shit. It's hard for them to argue with me telling them as much when I would be completing X objective well, which is what they wanted in the first place).

I don't want to make this sound like I'm trying to be overconfident, but I mention as much instead as a sign of support for other neurodivergent folks to feel similarly empowered to drum to their own beat. Thinking back, I went from almost failing high school and ultimately retaking a grade to excelling in all my classes. Every single one. I know that's a relative assessment, you got variable difficulty levels, etc., and the grade score isn't important in and of itself, least of all because the school systems here (Canada) are a mess it seems, but just that alone as an idea, within the parameters of a particular system, I went from initial abject failure to thorough and lauded success.

Just think of what so many people could do if they weren't being pigeonholed into formats that absolutely aren't working for them.

I already have a boatload of (genuinely helpful by way of enabling access to proper education and treatment) diagnoses from my history of working with my (very wonderful and genuinely caring and helpful) psychiatrist that match with what I know about the neurodivergence term umbrella like ADHD, OCD, and bipolar, so it seems |autism| will feel quite at home in the group ^w^. I'll ask her about it at my next appointment to see if an official diagnosis has any value versus me just continuing to figure things out on my own.

Either way, I am thrilled right now thinking about the next time I get to shout

"FUCK YOU IM DOING AUTISTIC SHIT"

OP OP! May we know what you do during your 6/7 years after graduation to finally got your job? Any advice? I feel very insecure that my age is gonna be 30’s and i’ll be a new employee and some of the workers here are younger than me and in their early 20’s .. just because I enter college 3 years late and it was covid and so many delay that time so that’s another reason why it took so long to graduate. First of all, it's okay to have a slow head start actually! Doesn't matter if you're going to be in your thirties, never be ashamed that you started late then others. It's okay, as you do it at your own pace.

During those 6/7 years after graduation, I jump jobs. A lot. And none of them are in my field(Animation).

I can't remember which job was my first after graduation but I was a Sales Assistant, and then a Customer Service. And then when COVID happened, I managed to get a paid Volunteer job at one of the few Covid Vaccines Sites. Then with my Ma's push, I finally got my current job.

Yes, sometimes I feel upset that I'm not working in my current field as soon as possible(Some of my housemates managed to land those jobs after interning) It WAS a struggle. And then you have people criticising you on your academic choices.

Literally, at that point.....I just gave up hope. Give up wanting to do animation. Giving up my dream job. Something I wanted to do when I was 14.

Until one day, my Ma had enough and she dragged me from my previous job that I had started 3 days prior and said I should go and finally do something with my field. She dragged me to this Job Convention.

I was tired, lost all hope but I did what she told me. I dreaded having to do another customer service-y job.

Until I saw one animation studio. Just ONE. Among all the list of companies that were there for the Job Day Convention or whatever you called it.

The same animation studio I had visited when I was still in Uni.

So I went there, got an on site interview.

And before I know it I got another interview on Monday and then there I was finally in the studio.

And here I am still in the same place. I'm almost here for 3 years now.

To be honest, I can't say the moral of the story is to never give up cause I DID give up. But I had support. I had my mother shouting believes I will get the dream job I wanted.

Her comment after I got in? She said "See, I told we'll get something here! If not now, when?"

So I guess having support helps too. Don't be discouraged if your co workers are younger than you. People start at their own pace and take it how they wanted it.

Korean Learning - Month 5 recap

I've failed at most of my goals but that is not a bad thing at all, I simply focused on different things than I expected.

Things I didn't do

I did not finish the King Sejong Institute Beginner 2 course (I'm at 6/20)

I did not add numbers to Anki (I have a couple of them on there, I'll add the others holistically)

I did not watch videos with Korean subtitles - I tried but the subtitles were SO FAST and it was just discouraging. I will try again in the future. (on the other hand, the more I try to read Hangul the more I'm surprised at how fast I can read the latin alphabet)

I did not go get the Korean grammar for Italians book at my local library.

I did try to speak to myself in Korean. It was successful to an extent but I still need to learn more vocabulary for sure.

Things I did do

I stayed consistent with Anki. My deck is now formed by 938 cards! Of which only 41% are new

One of my goals was to finish reading the first Easy Korean Reading book by the end of the month. Well, I just started the fifth book! I crushed it. I can not recommend this series enough. SERIOUSLY!!!

I downloaded TikTok and forced my algorithm to believe I'm a Korean displaced in Italy, therefore showing me lots of Korean content. I get a lot of comedy sketches and pet channels. Sometimes I can understand a couple of words or at least recognize sentence patterns (written) and it's always SO satisfying. I've also discovered a lot of cool places to visit in Seoul.

Why all this stuff happened

I think I dropped the ball on King Sejong Institute because it's more laborious and less satisfying than simply read an Easy Korean Reading chapter. Also, I do get some grammar points from Easy Korean Reading so... Also, I had uni exams.

I still want to finish the course tho but it will probably take me more time than the first one.

Some things I've noticed: 1 I'm now good enough at reading Hangul that I'm able to add audio to my Anki cards. Yay! 2 Reading out loud actually helps me understand it better? No idea why.

Goals for June

Reading: I want to at least finish reading 3.1 and 3.2 of the Easy Korean Reading series, but I think I'll probably manage to also read the Level 4 books. If I have time even after that, I want to start reading this King Sejong free ebook I've had downloaded for a while.

Listening: I think I'm now mostly ready to listen to ChoiSusu's beginner podcasts. I want to listen to at least 1 new podcast every week.

Vocabulary: keep going with Anki. I've decided that by the end of August, I want to have 2k cards in my deck. Therefore, I need to add another 500 cards next month, or 16 cards a day, which feels doable. I'm currently learning 20 new words a day but I'll try to amp it up to 25.

Writing: I've heard that Anki allows you to add "fill it out" cards, so I want to add some to improve my spelling in Hangul.

Speaking: I want to start taking conversation lessons on Italki. It will be tricky to do because I still have to balance work and an exam, but I promise myself to book at least 1 lesson a week for this month. Gaaah, I'm nervous!!!

Hey, do you have any tips to regularly motivate yourself to study?

I often get overwhelmed by the homework and forget about the textbook readings and preparation.

sorry for taking so long to answer and thanks for the question.

1) get a study buddy. find a person with similar academic goals to you even if you don't study the same thing and set a time and a place regularly, were you just go to actually study and hold eachother accountable. my friend and I meet every saturday and go to the library or a study cafe for five hours. we are different majors so we can't really help one another but it's about accountability.

2) habits, routines >> motivation. I am the biggest procrastinator and motivation doesn't work for me. I have created systems that force me to study. Like the study friend or going to a study group meeting, going to the library after class without going home in between cause if I go home I now I'm just going to watch tv and not study at all. you can also try virtual study groups if it's more accessible to you although I've never tried with strangers before.

3) plan everything. plan ahead from the moment you get the syllable as far as you can. organize time for smaller tasks every day or every other day if you can. make the schedule as realistic and as flexible as you can.

4) a little bit every day. textbook readings don't usually get done cause a.our asses are on fire from hw b. they don't have a deadline c. are huge . So break it down in smaller chunks. let's say you have to get through 800 pages. from the stem prospective I try to skim through 10 to 20 pages each time and get the general gist.

5) 5% is better than 0. even if you do nothing but read one page or solve one practice problem a day it's still something.

6) find old exams. if most of your classes have exams in the end and not projects lime mine, try to find as many older exam questions as possible. if the professor is the same they usually have a similar style of exams each year. this way you know what kind of exam you are studying for and can focus on the material that actually matters so you don't get overwhelmed as much.

7) make friends with upperclassmen. they've been already through this and usually have pretty good advice and tricks. I like to bribe them with coffee or food and they'll even give you the work they've done for the class before, this way you get a better understanding of what you have to do for the class. they are also a good motivation or reminder cause they are the proof that you can pass this class.

8) it's going to be ok. school and uni suck sometimes but you can get through it. if it gets too overwhelming academically see if you have the option for a tutor or sth similar and don't be too proud to ask for help, we've all been there.
